Arp 322 • HCG 56

Arp 322 — HCG 56

Arp 322 corresponds to Hickson Compact Group 56, a tight group of interacting galaxies showing strong tidal distortions and faint outer structures.

Challenge: Observing the four Hickson components.

Arp 322 consists of the UCG 6527 chain in Hickson 56. These are Hickson 56B, 56C, 56D, and 56E. Arp 322 lies just below the much larger Arp 214 (11' x 8.5').
