HCG 56 is a compact group of five galaxies located in the constellation Leo Minor.
The members show pronounced signs of interaction, including warped disks, disturbed
outer halos, and faint tidal streams that become visible in long-exposure imaging.
Several galaxies in the group display asymmetric structures, indicating strong
gravitational influence from their neighbors.
