IC 59 is a faint reflection nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. Together with
its neighbor IC 63, it forms a pair of nebulae illuminated by the bright star Gamma Cassiopeiae.
IC 59 is dominated by blue reflection light, caused by starlight scattering off interstellar
dust. The nebula has a delicate, diffuse structure with subtle filaments and soft gradients
that become visible in long-exposure imaging.
