This equatorial sundial incorporates a relief map of the Earth centred on the Pacific Ocean. A central polar gnomon casts a shadow onto the hour scale aligned with the equator, allowing local solar time to be read directly. The design combines the functions of a sundial with a geographical representation of the Earth.
