Caldwell 32, commonly known as the Whale Galaxy, is a large edge-on spiral galaxy
in the constellation Canes Venatici. Its distorted shape, caused by gravitational interaction
with nearby galaxies, gives it a whale-like appearance. The galaxy is rich in star-forming
regions and lies approximately 30 million light-years away.
