Trumpler Catalog

The Trumpler catalogue (1930) is a classification system for open clusters introduced by Robert Trumpler. It does not list clusters by discovery, but categorises them by concentration, richness and degree of detachment from the surrounding star field. The Trumpler types provide a uniform way to describe the structure and appearance of open clusters, ranging from loose and irregular groupings to dense, well‑defined clusters.
